Mandarin Oriental Bodrum is a beautiful five-star luxury resort on the Bodrum Peninsula, with stunning views across the Aegean Sea.
I love this hotel for its coastal location and exclusive access to two private beaches. Privacy is the true luxury of staying at Mandarin Oriental, whether you’re staying in a garden room or villa, you have plenty of space that is yours alone; quiet and secluded.
Rooms have private outdoor terraces with sunbeds and dining space, apartments ranging from 1 to 4-bedrooms come with kitchenettes and dining space to allow for flexibility and independence, Suites feature their own private plunge pools - the two-bedroom Oriental Suite is my favourite with a private Hammam and sauna - and the villas, which include up to seven bedrooms, are all huge, with private swimming pools and ample garden and al fresco dining space.
The style of accommodation at Mandarin Oriental is contemporary, with Turkish elements as well as many Oriental-inspired features.
Dining at Mandarin Oriental is a particularly special experience, as guests have a wonderful choice of fine-dining restaurants to choose from, including Italian restaurant, Assaggio, Mediterranean restaurant, Sofra, Japanese inspired Kurochan, and pool and beach-side dining for a more relaxed setting.
You cannot stay at the Mandarin Oriental Bodrum without visiting the spectacular 2,700-metre spa. The hotel group is renowned for their wellness offerings and there is a wonderful menu of holistic treatments to choose from. Follow up a relaxing massage, hammam or scrub with a swim in one of the outdoor pools and a siesta in a private cabana.
Along with relaxing on the beach or in the spa, guests can make use of the hotel’s extensive facilities, enjoying activities such as yoga, tennis, scuba diving, watersports, fishing, and beautiful sailing excursions on traditional Turkish Gulet yachts.
Every time I explore a new destination, whether it’s on an adventure holiday in Peru or a luxury beach escape in the Indian Ocean, I return home full of excitement to share the amazing sights I have seen. Through my own experiences I have developed a love of helping others experience the great wonders of the world; truly getting under the skin of the extraordinary destinations that are at your fingertips. Getting the details right, from which hotel is perfectly located for exploring away from the crowds, to which local guide is most knowledgeable on history or culture or art, is of paramount importance to me. I am constantly seeking out new and exciting experiences and exploring off the beaten track to ensure my clients are receiving the best and most honest first-hand advice.
